American healthcare ACT
One of Trump's biggest campaign promises was to "Repeal and Replace Obamacare". And he did just that with the American Healthcare Act. This one is different because it does not make it mandatory for states to provide for essential benefits, those with preexisting conditions will have higher premiums (outlawed in the ACA), and give tax breaks to the wealthy. There has been severe backlash towards this act because it is seen to help the rich and hurt the poor and leave millions uninsured.
Affordable Care act
Also known as Obamacare, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has been the center of the healthcare dispute. The ACA has three important parts: make affordable health insurance to everyone (the mandate), expand Medicaid (people who can't afford healthcare), and create new healthcare delivery methods to drive down the cost of healthcare. Democrats love it, and Republicans hate it. Why? Because too much government and favors the poor more than the rich and better-off.
